How to get your website ready for Holiday Sales

Holiday Shopping is starting earlier each year. According to a Bankrate survey, 24% of holiday shoppers plan to start their shopping in October and 37% in November this year. That means you need your site to be holiday ready by early to Mid-October.

Here are some ways you can make sure your site is ready:

Optimize Performance

Faster loading times and content delivery means better site ranking and performance.

If your site is too slow to load, you’ll lose out on customers and Google will rank it lower for not being user friendly.

Mobile Responsive Design

Pew Research says that nearly 76% of US adults buy online using their smart phones. That means you need to make sure the mobile version of your site is user-friendly, easy to navigate, and has an excellent user experience.

When is the last time you looked at your website from your phone to make sure everything is looking good and easy to use?

Test your checkout process and links

There’s nothing worse than having broken links or a clunky checkout process. You want your audience to be able to check out quickly without any roadblocks so make sure that everything is simplified, running smoothly, and that there are no broken links. If buttons aren’t working or the checkout process has hiccups, you’re losing out on sales.

Review Analytics from last year to improve

How did your site and sales perform last year? Do your analytics tell you anything to help you improve this year? What key words performed best? How did people find your site? Evaluating these analytics can help you make adjustments and improve your site for this holiday season. Data is our friend!

Privacy Policy Terms and Conditions Updates

When is the last time you updated these? Make sure they are up-to-date and holiday ready. Have clear communication about things such as holiday returns, shipping deadlines, affiliate commissions, and product usage agreements.

How’s the overall look and feel of your site?

Does your site need some maintenance or cleanup? Or maybe new pages set up to optimize SEO for your business? Whether it’s finally setting up that blog or making your current one easier to navigate, this needs to happen before the holiday season starts. If you need to add products, clean up products, or add better flow/ images/ etc., let’s tackle that asap!
